Not sure if it’s yours? Check the motor, not the remote
Avanti openers were imported into Australia under several different labels, so the badge on your motor may not say Avanti at all. The model numbers below are your motor’s — the unit on the ceiling — not the remote’s. They’re printed on a label on the casing, usually on the side or the back.
This remote is listed as suiting these motors: SDO-1 · SDO-3 and SDO-3 DC · SDO-P · SDO10 · SDO-21, including the TP/BP, DPS and MPS variants · RDO10 · MPS 12 and MPS 21 · DPS · D12 / D20 · T12 / S12 · Slimfit N3588.
Can’t get to the motor or can’t read the label? Send us a photo of the remote you already have and we’ll identify it for you.
Telling it apart from the mHouse remote
There’s an mHouse handset that looks very similar to this one — same shape, same button layout — but in a lighter colour. Handy to know when you’re comparing yours against the photos, because at a glance they’re easy to confuse.
It doesn’t affect what you receive. We check every order against our suppliers before it ships, so if your opener is an Avanti or one of the brands it was sold under, the correct remote is what turns up.
Aftermarket, or the genuine replacement
Avanti stopped production in Australia, so there’s no genuine TX4 still being made. You have two options and they’re both legitimate:
This one is the tested aftermarket equivalent. Four buttons, 433MHz rolling code, runs up to four doors or gates, and it pairs to the receiver already inside your existing motor. Nothing in your opener needs changing.
The genuine route is the new-style Centurion-Avanti remote. Avanti made it as the official replacement for TX4 models across Airport, Centurion, Matadoor and Superlift openers as well, so it covers more than just Avanti motors. It costs a little more; it’s the same job, done with the manufacturer’s own part.
Rolling code means the remote sends a different code every time it’s pressed, so it can’t be recorded from the driveway and played back.
Fitting it
Everything we sell is DIY, so you’re not paying a technician for something you can do yourself. Plain-English programming instructions and the battery are included.
One thing to know before you order: to pair a new remote you have to reach the control panel on the motor itself, which usually means a ladder. The remote end is simple; the motor end is up there. If you’d rather not climb, tell us your postcode and we’ll recommend an installer near you — you’d pay them directly for the callout, it isn’t something we arrange or cover.
